Dance Classes for Women Over 50

DANCE CLASSES FOR WOMEN 50 AND OVER
I am hosting a dance class for senior women (over 50) who may benefit from arts-based exercise to help with slight mobility issues. The classes are also suitable for those who simply wish to improve their balance, flexibility, coordination, strength, and agility.
The inaugural class took place on Wednesday February 26, at 11 a.m., at the Millennium Fitness Center, 99 Pasea Road, Tunapuna.
Each class is a blend of folk dance, contemporary and creative dance, with elements of the Lester Horton Technique being taught. The emphasis is not on performance but on responding to creative challenges using the movements taught, in order to improve physical and cognitive functioning.
My name is Jewel Fraser and I have just been awarded the Undergraduate Certificate in Dance and Dance Education from the Department of Creative and Festival Arts, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
The monthly fee for my classes, which will be held at the Millennium Fitness Center on Wednesdays at 11 a.m., is TTD300, or TTD85 for those who just wish to drop in for a session.
