JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up work stations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepares all food items to order, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits or according to supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures. Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Grill requested food items in accordance to customers’ specifications and company approved recipes and procedures
Check and recheck equipment temperature to ensure accuracy of order
Arrange prepared food items in an aesthetic manner
Perform starting up duties by switching on grills and oven at the beginning of each shift
Perform marinating and sautéing activities according to established recipes and procedures
Grill cheese, meats, poultry and vegetables by following set procedures and grilling times
Ascertain that heat and timers are accurately adjusted for each item that needs to be grilled
Partner with culinary team to ensure that all grilled orders are provided in sync with the rest of the order
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
Keep records of the quantities of food used.
Measure all ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking following the Company’s approved recipes and procedures.
Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage within work areas.
Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, to order needed items.
Add cutlery, napkins, food, and other items to trays on assembly lines in shop front as necessary.
Sweep and mop kitchen, grill area and shop front daily to ensure a clean and tidy work environment. Clean grill and grill vent daily or as directed by the Supervisor.
Remove trash as and when instructed to do so by Supervisor.
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and counter personnel.
Any other responsibilities as identified by Management.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Professional communication skills required
Food Handlers permit required
Ability to take directions and follow instructions.
Understanding and following basic kitchen sanitation and ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
Listening: Griller/Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from their supervisors.
Manual Dexterity: Griller/Prep cooks will be using their hands to cut and chop food, as well as other tasks.
Teamwork: Prep cooks are part of a team in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a supporting team player and level-headed will help immensely.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods of time
Must maintain a positive and upbeat attitude.
Ability to cross train in other areas as needed.
