Professional Garage Ltd. is seeking a qualified, reliable, and experienced professional to join our team as a Motor Vehicle Inspector. Whether you are already certified or looking to take the next step in your career to become an approved examiner, we want to hear from you!

Location: 25 Pashley Street, Laventille

The Role & Training Process

If you are already an inspector appointed by the Licensing Division, you can jump right into the role!

If you are not yet appointed, you will be required to take and pass the official Licensing Division exam to officially gain the title of Motor Vehicle Inspector. Until you pass your exam and receive your appointment, you will:

Be fully trained by our current in-house inspector.

Assist the inspector with daily operational duties where needed.

Assist our mechanics on the floor to ensure your mechanical skills are fully utilized and kept sharp while you await certification.

Important Notice Regarding the Exam: We fully support our trainees, but we can only accommodate a maximum of two (2) attempts to pass the Licensing Division exam. If a candidate fails the exam on their second attempt, we will unfortunately have no other choice but to dissolve the employment agreement.

Applicant Requirements

To meet the official criteria to become an approved Vehicle Testing Examiner, interested candidates must be able to provide the following:

A valid Police Certificate of Character.

Academic Certificates as an Auto Mechanic.

A valid Driver's Permit with authorized Class 1, 2, 3 & 4 endorsements.

Documented work experience as a motor vehicle mechanic from an authorized garage (a minimum of 2 years is required).

What We Provide

As your sponsoring employer, Professional Garage Ltd. will support your official examiner application by providing:

The required official correspondence (letter) to the Licensing Office requesting permission for you to become a vehicle testing station examiner.

Guidance in completing the final application form once your initial requirements (1-6) have been approved by the Licensing Office.

Hands-on mentorship and a supportive environment to help you prepare for and pass your exam.
