A Personal Support Worker (PSW) is most commonly called a caregiver, geriatric caregiver, or home health aide in Trinidad and Tobago
Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or Elderly Care Assistant.
Geriatric Aide / Nursing Aide: Used when the support is specifically focused on elderly care in homes or private residential facilities
REQUIREMENTS:
Salary is $25 per hour
8am - 6pm Daily

Core Daily Care
Personal hygiene: Assisting with bathing, showering, grooming, dressing, and oral care.
Toileting and mobility: Helping with bathroom need
Medication support: Assist giving medication by physically putting medication in client mouth [avoiding falling out] & providing a straw to prevent sitting it back into the cup.
Household and Support Tasks
Meal preparation: Assist client and or housekeeper to prepare nutritious meals and helping with feeding if needed.
Light housekeeping: Handling tidying, washing dishes, and keeping the living space clean. [Family Room]
Monitoring and Communication
Health observations: Tracking physical or behavioral shifts
(like changes in mood, appetite, or mobility) and reporting them immediately to the family.
Companionship: Offering meaningful social interaction and emotional reassurance to prevent isolation.

The Health Care Provider charting in a home care setting must record daily care activities, vital signs, changes in health status, and incidents. This documentation ensures safe care, tracks client progress, and provides a legal record for the health care team. Record personal care given, like bathing, grooming, and dressing. Note meal and fluid intake amounts. Track bowel and bladder habits or changes.
